Purpose of the Job
The suitable candidate must be able to teach courses in any Human Resource related field.

Qualifications and experience

Hold a Master of Arts in HRM or postgraduate qualifications at Master’s level in a Human Resource related field from a recognized institution of Higher Learning.
Should have at least 3 years experience in teaching and supervising research for either undergraduate or postgraduate students in an institution of higher learning.
A mature and committed Christian.

Main duties and Responsibilities

Prepare Course outlines for all courses taught according to the University format.
Prepare assessment tools and marking guides accordingly.
Teaching and assessment of students in accordance with the University’s curriculum.
They are expected to be present for all lectures.
Maintenance of regular office hours for attending to students’ questions.
Participation in regular academic and administrative meetings.
To chair and participate on adhoc or volunteer committees from time to time.
Supervising students’ on placements – internships, research papers and projects.
Advising students on academic issues.
Should be willing to uphold the University’s instruments of Christian identity.
Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Job Description

Demonstrates understanding of the workings of the communication sector and its relationship with other sectors;

Purpose of the Job
The Uganda Christian University seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to serve as Technical Instructor in the Department of Mass Communication. The department needs a technician to maintain them, manage equipment, assist with the transfer of practical skills and advise on acquisition of equipment and other teaching resources.

Qualifications and experience

Diploma, Certificate or other post-secondary qualification in media/media technologies’ maintenance from an institution of higher learning;
Experience with sound engineering, lighting, video and multi-media operations;

Job Description

Oversee and carry out various day to day departmental administrative functions
Perform regular secretarial studies for the department: answer phone calls, type correspondence, order office supplies, maintain the office appointment calendar, screen incoming mail, arrange departmental meetings, photocopying etc.
Coordinate, initiate, prepare, and monitor various administrative/ operations forms and ensuring timely completion of documents by other departments or university students and faculty staff.
Organize and maintain various departmental files and records.
Develop and maintain various logs and other manual record-keeping systems related to assigned functions.
Perform basic liaison functions with students, staff members or other departments: explain policies and procedure, answer various questions related to the office/department, handle special requests or problems, and routing them to the supervisor as appropriate.
Perform other specialized or technical administrative tasks related to the department’s primary function.
Confer regularly with immediate supervisor, other department/University personnel and or individuals outside the University to plan and coordinate activities, exchange information and resolve problems.
Ensure proper registration of USP students into the UCU system.
Coordinate logistics for USP departmental courses including attendance sheets, reading reports by students and meeting with class representatives.
Assist on USP travel, taking responsibilities as delegated by trip leader.
Assist with practicum placements and coordination with practicum sites as delegated by the USP coordinators.
Perform other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
